The project included lining of 2100 linear feet of 48” sewer pipe, rehabilitation of 7 manholes, shotcrete of two enlarged structures, installing temporary and permanent bicycle trails while maintaining pedestrian and bicycle safety. Additionally there was a rehabilitation of upstream structure, creating a doghouse manhole, 48”, sewer system, bypassing 169 MGD with tow bypass systems and two diversion systems creating and environmentally pleasing area for bicyclists and pedestrians. There was also a 96-foot-long stone façade installment of permanent fencing along the Potomac River. Work was completed to ensure an old pumping station was safe by relocating and exposing manholes that had been buried over the years, welders created specialized sluice gate system for two structures, performing specialized restoration and filtering system. This work was completed September 30th of 2018.
